Gregory Russell Paulus (born July 3 1986) is a well-known American basketball coach who is currently the Head Coach for Niagara University. Paulus was previously the assistant coach of basketball at Louisville, Ohio State, and George Washington University. Paulus is an athlete who played multiple sports, playing basketball in college as a point guard for Duke University’s Duke University men’s team and later playing football in the football team at Syracuse University.
Paulus was injured in his feet in the preseason. After the seasonended, the assistant head coach Chris Collins said Paulus struggled due to an tarsal joint that was repaired by surgery. He is now fully recovered. Paulus set a new career high on the 15th of March, 2007 when he scored 25 points in a game in a game against Virginia Commonwealth.

Paulus led the Atlantic Coast Conference in assist to turnover ratio during the 2007–08 season, and shot over 42 percent from beyond the arc on his way to making 82 three point field goals.
In the fall of 2017, Paulus left Ohio State and was hired to be an assistant coach for the Louisville Cardinals under interim head coach David Padgett. Paulus was not retained for assistant under new Louisville head coach Chris Mack following the end of the season.
