Joanne Rowling, better known by her pseudonym J. K. Rowling, is an English writer, philanthropist, film producer, television producer and screenwriter. She is best known for writing the award-winning Harry Potter fantasy series, which sold over 500 million copies, becoming the best-selling series in history.
